The Missouri Symphony Society is dedicated to enhancing and increasing the cultural areness of classical music in the mid-Missouri area by presenting high-caliber performances by professional musicians and encouraging and educating young performing artists.
Through donations and sponsorships, the Society presents the annual Hot Summer Nights Festival – the premier music festival in Columbia. The six-week festival features spectacular concerts from the Missouri Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Kirk Trevor and special guests. The series offers something for everyone with affordable prices and an array of music from Mozart to Broadway to family concerts.
The Missouri Symphony Conservatory serves students in grades 3 through 12 with choral and instrumental programs. The Conservatory offers two orchestra ensembles and a choral group, which allow students to explore according to their own musical progression and interests. Programs for a wide range of ages and performance levels nurture each student’s innate artistic expression, leading to the personal rewards that come from accomplishment and sharing.
